End users who have purchase the Retail boxed PC version of Terminator Salvation can head over to Evolved Games Support page for details on getting a replacement copy of the game.
Keep in mind that this game is a movie tie-in! Its meant to complement seeing the movie, watch a two hour movie then come home for another two hours of interactive material! The price is a bit high for what it is but when you consider the content exterior to this game (the movie, d'oh!) then this product complements it not that bad. As for quality assurance, this product had a hard deadline that was approaching fast. They were probably elated when they punched that last bit of content and just made it. Only to be tripped at the last second snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They are no doubt kicking themselves hard enough without our help. Mistakes happen and PC development is an investment that has its own process' to add lots of complexity. The fact they were able to meet the release date of the other creative process (the movie) or shall we say coordinate enough is a feat in itself. Cut them some slack.
I bought Terminator Salvation at FutureShop (Laval, Quebec, Canada) for PC and my copie doesn't work either. So I calld 1-800-624-0634 and the lady took my mailing address to send me a working copy at home by mail. It should take a few days to get in my mailbox... (Does it fit in ??)
I was surprised that no specific information was taken about the defective copy I actually bought. I mean, I could have not buy and game and they would send me a free copy ?? I tought that the next CD (DVD) would still need the original to chec for serials or something like this, but apparently according to her, I can toss it right away...
To be on the safe side, I will wait to see the game running on my computer first, of course.
Since I never owned a terminator game for PC yet, I'm looking forward what this one looks like. I don't expect the same gameplay as in Half-Life or Call Of Duty, but I'm looking forward to be in the terminator universe somehow.
I saw the movie and kind a liked it... 8/10. I was hoping to see the same units as in the original terminator movie (Goliath tabks, many T-800 as seein in T-3, laser weapons), but they were still using kinetic weapons (bullets). Perhapse we will see in T-5...
If you liked Schwarzy, well he is there too, for one scene wich has been done in CG apparently... no big deal but was fun to see him again... (Ladies will like this version of Arnold 'cause with CG they made him look like a big body builder...)
So, until I get my own working copy of Terminator Salvation, I'll just keep playing some other game...
No Nothing here either...although I did receive a telemarketing call from them saying I would get Tech support for a monthly charge. What a bad experience :(
It's Monday June 1, and no replacement disk delivered today. I don't know if I can still return this to Best Buy for either a replacement or get my money back(it's probably to late for the latter). Dealing with this company has been a miserable experience. I'll never buy anything with Evolved's name on it again.
Tuesday, June 2nd, I just called the phone number to get my game disc replaced for the second time. The first time was May 20th. The rep on the phone told me he would put in a request for a tracking number and that I should give them two days before checking back to see where it is. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but this is totally unacceptable. It seems they should be busting their rear ends to make this right. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well, you'll never fool me again.
OK, I just talked to Evolved, and they said that my game had been "dispatched"(honest thats what he said) and I should be receiving it by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. We'll see.....
I called them on Thursday and they said "call back tomorrow for a tracking number". I called back like they told me to and they said "No we don't give tracking numbers" hahahaha! Is there no end to this nightmare!!!?
I downloaded this game from bestbuy.com/downloads. I am attempting to install and received the following error message. Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070002 Error Information: >SetupNew\setup.cpp (630) PAPP:Terminator Salvation PVENDOR:Evolved Games (http://www.terminatorsalvationthegame.com) PGUID:712297BD-71F6-457E-8025-47F3F027390B $15.0.0.498 @Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (6002) IE Version: 8.0.6001.18702 Any help here?
Has anyone received their fixed copy yet? I called the day after the number was put up, was told 5-6 days and am still waiting for my copy. When I called back they couldn't tell me if it was shipped or anything.
Ya I called that same day and they told me 5-6 days too. I called 7 days later and they said 7 more days. Tomorrow will be day 14 and so far still nothing. The funny part is I think the stores have the re-released disks on the shelves already. Somebody has some explaining to do.
I just called them. I spoke to "Bob Smith" with a suspiciously Indian accent (you've gotta love the loud clicking noises on the connection overseas). He had no record of anyone taking down my information. He also went on to tell me (in an accent so thick I could hardly understand him) that the disk is going through the final phases of testing! He said they haven't released it yet!!!!! But it should be "soon". That in combination with losing all of my information previously leads me to believe we will never receive it. I'm thinking making a call to the Atty. General's office or the Better Business Bureau. Unbelievable!
Did anyone get their replacement disk yet? I still haven't received mine. I'm going to call them tomorrow, Monday the 22nd and see what kind of an excuse they have this time.
Finally received my new disk today(only a month after I first puchased it). Installed without a hitch, but when I tried to start the game nothing happened. I started Task Manager and and it didn't show any running applications, but under running processes, "Terminatorsalvation32.exe" was there. So it thought something should be happening but nothing actually was. What now?
Finally received mine today as well. Was it worth the wait? Yeah sort of. Runs better than I thought it would although after playing 30 mins I'm gonna restart on a harder difficulty as it seems super easy. Mine Installed and runs with no probs, Randy. I'm Using an i7 920 with a gtx295 and windows 7 64bit. Not sure if I can help you but will try.
My system specs are: AMD Phenom 2 X4 940 3.0Ghz, 8 GB ram, Radeon 4870 video card, Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatality Titanium, Vista 64 bit. I just can't figure out what would keep it from working. Thanks in advance for any help.
FINALLY GOT THE REPLACEMENT DISC YESTERDAY. IT'S ACTUALLY A PRETTY GOOD GAME. AWESOME GRAPHICS (I HAVE NVIDIA GTX275). A MUST HAVE COLLECTOR ITEM IF YOU'RE A TERMINATOR FAN. IT'S UNFORTUNATE THAT THIS GAME WAS RELEASED SO IRRESPONSIBLY.
MY ADVICE TO EVOLVED IS CREATE SOME DOWNLOADABLE CONTENTS (EXTRA LEVELS, ETC.) TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR ERRORS. THE GAMING COMMUNITY IS ACTUALLY VERY FORGIVABLE IF YOU MAKE THE EFFORTS.
I have called them 3 times left my info each time and I still haven't gotten my copy yet what gives. I tried calling again this past Friday and all I got was a busy signal. Either give me the game or give me a refund this is not funny at all it'sa going on two months since that worthless copy of Terminator Salvation has been sitting on my desk
rtm240sx Finally got mine to work which had the same problem as you. I made a new folder on the desktop and copied and pasted the game exe. from the game folder. I then got a crack from gamecopyworld and copied and pasted it into the game folder replacing the original exe. I then started the game by clicking on the original exe. in the desktop folder as using the crack created the same error, although for some reason it's needed in the game folder? I also choose co-op mode and when it asked for a key for player two i just pressed escape and clicked back on single player. Not sure if the last bit made ant difference, but just in case.
Ok,it started crashing perminently at Terminator screen again. After giving up i bought and installed Red faction guerilla and now Terminator runs sweet as a nut. Must have been some missing component that didn't install or probably a direct x update. Whatever it was,Red faction installed it and all is well.Happy days (O:!
wow even after the recall they are still selling bad copies i keep trying to get ahold of evolved to no avail worst game i have ever bought wont even install wish they would either refund my money or give me a working copy
keep emailing Evolved about the issue it took a few days for me but they finally emailed me back im waiting for the replacement copy its only been like 2 days but hopefully i get it soon and hopefully it works.
